ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH

Additional Information

Gemstones in the Making has created a fund with the FGCU Community Counseling Clinic (CCC) to provide mental health services for teenage girls in Lee County through a grant fund. The purpose of the Access to Mental Health Fund is to create access for young women who would otherwise be unable to afford counseling or other mental health services. Qualifying applicants should meet the following criteria:

· Qualified candidates will be residents of Lee County

· Qualified candidates will be enrolled in middle or high school

· Qualified candidates will be referred by Gemstones in the Making.

· Qualified candidates under 18 will provide consent as required by the CCC.

The FGCU Community Counseling Clinic provides basic counseling for eligible clients. The CCC does not provide consultation for disability or legal issues, treatment for eating disorders, treatment for severe substance abuse or dependence, emergency services, prescribe medication, neuropsychological evaluation, or treatment for behavioral concerns associated with involvement in the legal system (e.g., violent or criminal behavior).
